Kotoba Project

Some years back this site was full of information about kanji (Chinese characters as used in Japan). In 2006, though, I transferred most of that data to my Kanji Networks online etymological dictionary site, leaving Kotoba Project something of a footprint in the snow. If you have even the slightest interest in the written languages of China, Japan or Korea, by all means click the link to the dictionary. There you'll find 4,500 windows into the fascinating worldview of the ancient Han Chinese.
My other main accomplishment during the past decade has been to translate a fine piece of contemporary Japanese literature, Wahei Tatematsu's Distant Thunder, into English. The amazon.com page for the novel is here.
Kotoba Project is under reconstruction, and all that's presently on offer is a brief Kanji FAQs page. Whether or not you decide to visit that page, be sure to click through to Kanji Networks, where I look forward to meeting you again.
